If one of the daycare workers is dimwitted enough to put an 8 month old on a slide in your presence, just imagine what goes on when you are not there. |
I did not expect the accident report, I asked because someone who works in childcare mentioned that one should be written So, I just asked if one will be written, I was told that no because it was in my presence and he was not severely injured I am not looking to GAIN anything from it, but what I will do is have a conference with the director and teacher outlining other observations from this particular teacher |
this is what I was told, that if even if they do not write one automatically if the parent wants one, they will write one |
This is seriously where I am with the entire thing This is the first time he fell, granted However, not the first interaction where they've dropped the ball |
I think the purpose of the report is to let the parent know something happened to their child. If you were there, you know what happened. It is still reasonable I guess, for you to ask them to document it. They'd rather not because they don't want to seem responsible (liability). You could write your own report and send it to them in writing and ask that they respond in writing within 2 weeks if they disagree with what you stated. Again, don't see how that would help you unless you intended to sue and there aren't any damages. |
Bit, YOU WERE THERE! Why weren't you watching out for your child . Talking to another teacher is not an excuse. |
This sounds like the type of place that will take the kids on a field trip and forget one of them in the van after. I'd run, not walk. |
I don't think it's unreasonable that they won't write you a report because you were there.
It's hard to know how unreasonable the teacher was because I'm having trouble picturing this "slide." The fact he got rug burn suggests this might have been like a less than a foot off the ground vinyl/foam "slide." If so, and if your baby is crawling/scooting, I don't think putting him up there is itself unreasonable (although clearly allowing him to fall off was a problem, these things happen sometimes). If we're talking about an actual slide, then, yes, WTF. |
