| Do you enjoy running, OP? Does it make you happy and energized? If not, how about something else? I struggled to get back to running and never could - kid, job, aging parents, etc. Then instead I started rowing (on a river!) and looooved it, and found I can make time for that. I also can make time for gardening, which for me involves hauling 50lb bags of manure and sawing tree branches and stuff - real functional fitness things. Am I the most fit person out there? No, but I am fitter than when I was trying and failing to run. |
You CAN, though! I’ve been a runner for 25 years, but never dreamed of being an early-morning runner until I went back to work after 7 years at home and realized that 5:30 am was the one and only time it could happen. It was rough at first and I fall asleep a lot earlier at night, but I feel so much better in every way on the days that I run, and it is the best feeling to get the run over with before having to do anything else. Definitely helps to have at least one buddy who will hold you accountable. Hard to hit he snooze button when you know your friend is out there in the dark waiting for you. |
— wow, awesome! I do very minor gardening then ask my husband to pay me.

— thanks for the encouragement. Appreciate it. I may get there eventually. The thread - as short as it was - was helpful. Op out. |
