Who cares? What does Clyde Watson have to do with a thread about BSC’s next TD? |
Well Trey just sent all of his 00/01 team to colleges. He is the HC for GU17 ECNL and ECNL2 teams, which is the prime recruiting year. One players is already committed. I don't think it is going to be a problem this year. |
Well. Good luck with Colton then. |
I don’t want Colton. I want an effective girl’s TD with a proven track record, and I have no idea why Bethesda wouldn’t search for one. It’s a plum job, and I imagine they’d get plenty of great candidates. Of course, then they’d choose whichever one was least likely to change the status quo for the other people in leadership, but that’s a different issue. |
Because McLean is doing something right. Even BSC's top player left BSC for McLean. What ever Nadir and Clyde are doing, they have made McLean one of the top destination for quality players. |

Who said they aren’t? |
Not a good manager? Do you mean that she didn't get the coaches on the same page regarding training and player development - isn't that the only management job she had? The truly poor club management at BSC (bad fields, inconsistent practice times, last minute notice) comes from the main office staff. |
I mean she brought several new coaches, friends and favorites from other places she’d been, who ranged from decent to complete nightmare. She supported them all to a fault, regardless of how they performed, and brushed off very legitimate complaints about the worst ones (and I know BSC has a lot of whiny parents, but I’m talking about situations where any reasonable person would have serious concerns with a coach’s behavior). I believe her intentions were good and that she believes in the “girl power” message she preaches, but I expect Bethesda can really improve their coaching on the girl’s side going forward. |
what team does your kid play for? |
what complaints are you referring to? |
|
BSC reminds me of a joke I once heard about Buenos Aires that goes something like the following: "Argentina would be a great country if not for the Argentinians."
Apply the same concept to Bethesda and the parents and you'll hit 80% of the clubs problems and why Shannon left -- The parents are the problem and Shannon was not able to manage them. I heard that the MRM Rush parents didn't even want to join the club because of how whinny the BSC parents are. |
Managing parents is part of the job unfortunately, and I agree it’s not an easy task at Bethesda. |
Managing the parents is directly done by the coach not the TD, unless the coach is so bad that the parents would go directly to the TD to complain. A good coach would set the team and individual player expectations with the parents. |
| McLean Vs Bethesda....2 areas that are hated by all. Rich folks....make your voices heard!!! |
