Incident of misconduct at Fairfax County summer camp?

No reason not to say the name of the camp! Ridiculous. Are police reports publicly available?

In our neighborhood the Nextdoor is hosted by a real estate agent. She has access to member profiles and probably monitors their activities to get the intel. She recently mailed our street asking everyone to join.

Anyone can mail out postcards asking people to join, I think you get 99 post cards and regular reminders that you have not sent them. I am not a RealEstate Agent and have not sent out the post cards.

Probably true that anyone can mail. But it's not cheap.
So who foots the bill for the mailing? I can't people using their own money unless they have a skin in the game.

Nextdoor pays for them. Mass mailings are cheap and they want people to make choices based on the ads that they see.

Not if a minor is involved.

It could be anything. Really. A friend of mine’s son was hit in the head with a baseball bat at baseball camp this summer and had to get 15 stitches. According to her kid they weren’t supervised at the time and the hitter was a kid who had been a problem all week. I suppose a certain type of parent could easily post something vague to Nextdoor about filing a report and needing a lawyer only to be tied back to something like that.

It was described as a involving a juvenile, being of a “physical/sexual nature.” The post stated that the camp didn’t notify the juvenile’s family in a timely manner, and suggested that the camp staff had no adequately handled the incident.

I am not sure if this is the one that OP is referring to, but I saw a posting on Nextdoor with similar descriptions. I does not say which camp but it was at a younger kids camp.
