NP. That is why I went to Dr Castiello. Then he did the worst job of sclero, and didn't have me wear the stockings. He was jamming the needle into my leg. I got it redone somewhere else correctly. He also completely missed a nail fungus I had, said it was nail trauma when a culture run by another derm confirmed it was a fungus. |

Don't doubt your feelings, pp. But if he's so bad, what is he doing in the high-rent district of Chevy Chase for so many years and why the honor by his peers?
I don't think any doc is immune to being off on diagnoses. I have heard some real horror stories and hushed lawsuits against some very surprising docs. Just like no batter hits 1000, all docs will have some errors on their record. |

OP said she went to Dr. Castiello and would like to see someone different. I have seen Dr. Castiello and think he is nice and smart, but will not necessarily provide an anti-aging routine that will work. As an example, he told me I needed a deep peel, which cost $400 and caused significant peeling. I wanted to hide for three weeks, and it provided no benefit at all. Thereafter, I went to a different doctor (Dr. Adrian) who is now deceased. When I asked him about laser treatment, he said that while he needed to pay for all of the equipment in his office, I did not need that. Instead, he suggested Triluma -- cost at the time $100. Effectiveness== 100%.

I am 35 and 12 month pp. I started breaking out really bad on my jaw line. I went to Dr. Shelly Hall in Chevy Chase who took me 5 days later. She told me to get rid of the fancy products (Arbonne) and use Cetaphil cleanser. Also to stop using moisturizer. Only where its extremely dry or when I must need it to apply before foundation. She prescribed a Cleotin loiton for the morning and Differen at night. Differin is a retinoid but milder than Retin-A. I also use a masque once a week from Panjera Organics that has goji-berry in it. I read an article in the New York Times about the director of Canyon Ranch spending less time treating herself at the ranch and doing more treatments at home. She talked about goji berries and antioxident products.
4 weeks later my skin looks a little better. It takes up to 8 weeks on the Differen. I paid $42 with insurance once they called CareFirst directly. Otherwise, CVS told me the cost was $265 a tube. I would recommend avoiding touching your chin/jaw line area if you feel bumps. The skin there is thinner and will flare up and stay red longer. Good luck! |
| I think that all these posts underscore the importance that everyone's skin is so very different and that a professional diagnosis (sometimes two) to find the right match is essential to getting the skin you want. |
