OP, not sure what can be done. If you think she is good at her job, you could try to help her find fair employment. You also know who not to be friends with!

How do you know this woman is being "taken advantage of, harassed, or abused?" She is paid $50/day-- OP did not say how long the "day" is. Minimum wage in Virginia is $7.25/hr--so if she is working only 6 hour days, she is making a legal wage.
