So someone needs to take this business idea - cliff’snotes for parenting books - and run with it. Obviously there’s a market.

I didn’t read any parenting books. I raised two great adults. I’d rather read a true crime. I know how to parent.

+1
I’m so sick of the multiple examples of parent being made out to be a dope “I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong?” type and then author makes suggestion and follows up with how well it worked and parent was so thankful and surprised.

I love parenting books. I’ve gotten something useful out of every one I’ve read.

I can’t think of any parenting books (at least the popular ones) that are written by phds in child development. Do you have an example?

The Parents We Mean to Be. By Richard Weissbourd, PhD

The Most Important Year: PreKindergarten and the Future of our Children. By Suzanne Bouffard, PhD

The Science of Parenting. By Margot Sunderland, PhD

I find a lot of people have children and feel compelled to write books like they are experts. I can talk to my friends for info like that. I want actual rigorous data and research.
