I can’t type lol but I’m sure y’all got what I was saying lol.
Per ped's recommendation, we started DS on baby oat cereal mixed in with formula at 4 months.
Skip it. We just gave our kids whatever we were eating (we eat meals together). Mashed potatoes, bananas, etc. Anything soft.
Yup, same here. When baby was old enough to sit up in highchair, and grasp little bits, we set them up next to the table and we all ate together. This was around 6 months or so for all of my kids. Not 4 months, that seems early. None of them liked the nasty rice or oatmeal cereals. My babies all learned easily to self-feed and enjoyed a good variety of foods. |
We started with puréed veggies around 5.75 months. At our 6 mo appt our ped recommended adding some infant oatmeal some days. It's better to start with veggies over fruit so that baby doesn't get used too sweetness too early. Definitely agree about adding a few sips of water. We are doing powders for introducing allergens. Add to bottles one per day.
We started solids at maybe 5.5 moths with both of my girls. We skipped the oatmeal and started with fruits and vegetables. We then added oatmeal. But instead of buying the baby oatmeal kind (it’s too constipating) we just put dry Quaker Oats in a blender and blended it to a powder consistency.
We started at 6 mos and did oatmeal, its more nutritious than rice which was marketed forever.
