Can you call the police on people who almost cause accidents?

Try meditation

Will my mediating help the person not be a shitty dangerous driver? No.

Will your meditation make you become a less shitty person? Probably not! But it’s eorth s try.

The fact you are still thinking about it means you need meditation.

Also read Eckeet Tolle to understand how unhealthy it is to worry about people in traffic.

I am still thinking about it because it just happened and the idiot almost caused me severe injury and likely would have totaled my car. Its totally normal to be thinking about it 15 MINUTES LATER.

All those could have happened are imaginary untrue made up thoughts you created in your head. They are fiction! Meditation and Eckart Tolle can help you with that.

For a driver error that caused a near miss? No. For erratic and dangerous driving? Absolutely - Ex: a speeding drives serves around you, almost side swiping your vehicle and coming close to getting into a head-on collision with another car, then continues to barrel at high speed down the road. Call the cops ASAP.

I saw a truck drifting into other lanes like the driver was dozing off, drunk or highly distracted - it was really bad. I called the cops and the "if you have problems with my driving report it" number on the truck.

I’ve reported reckless/dangerous highway driving before, using 511 because I was hesitant to dial 911. The operator told me, “yeah, we’ve had a few calls about this.”

A couple of exits later the car was pulled over.

Don’t know if our calls actually made a difference or if there was already an officer there. But the driving was so erratic i didn’t know if it was an asshole driver or if someone was having a medical issue. It was scary.

The word was meditating. Mediating means something else.

You can call in aggressive driving. Not sure what they’d do about it if anything at all, but probably if enough calls come in at same time about a driver they may be pulled in.

When someone is driving badly and then has a collision, it's not an accident. It's a collision. It's a crash. It's a predictable and preventable event.

If we really treated it that way then most of us should stop driving, which would be very inconvenient.

Yes, so we keep on deluding ourselves (and killing people) by calling them "accidents".

Post the details here so we can shame the driver.

I called the police on an elderly woman who didn't stop for a stop sign and almost hit me and my daughter. (in the crosswalk. without a stop sign. in broad daylight. pushing a bright yellow stroller so she really should have seen me.) I had the make/model/license and asked them if they would pay her a visit and try to determine if she should maybe not still be driving. Unfortunately a lot of older people no longer have the vision and/or reaction time to drive properly, and need to look into alternate means of transport.

No, we should recognize them as predictable, preventable events and take the appropriate steps to prevent them.
