Buy Buy BABY v Babies R Us

Anonymous
Babies R Us has a TERRIBLE return policy. For on-line purchases, you have to make sure that the item is also sold in stores otherwise you cannot return it at a store (have to send back as previous poster explained). 45 days i think for "electronic" items and 90 days for everything else. doesn't matter if you have a receipt or not - after these deadlines they will not accept a return/exchange. I find the service at BRU less than desirable. Definitely try something else if you have good options (location, etc.)

I would avoid BRU at all cost. Return policy is draconian and the customer service non-existent.

None of the above! I personally hate all big baby box stores - I think they really prey on new expectant parents by pushing you into registering for all kinds of stuff that you don't need (because you'll get gifts or hand-me-downs) or will never use. And then they have awful return policies so you can't get your money back. I think that if you don't register, you'll likely have a good number of people just ask you want you need (and often make suggestions of what they want to buy you, so you know what their price range is which will allow you to make appropriate suggestions from there).

Definitely BBB. I wanted to buy a gift for a friend who lives in NY who registered at BRU. It wasn't available on the website and I called to see if I could order direct from a local store and pay extra for shipping and that was not an option. Ridiculous!! How hard do I have to work to spend money?

We registered with BRU for my first pregnancy - I didn't have a problem with it and certainly didn't think it was as bad as the other posters are describing.

It's true BBB has more "high end" stuff - guess it depends how "high end" of a person you are.

I found BRU to be more convenient for me personally and also for my friends and family who were shopping off my registry. I also found they had almost everything I wanted to register for.

I just bought the things I liked at BBB for myself.

That's funny - I've heard good things about the return policy at BRU. In contrast, I hear the policy at Target is TERRIBLE.
