So my 16 y.o. is driving to her friend's for a sleepover...

I remember making a million mistakes like that when I started driving. That's how you get experience under your belt.

In my 20s and new to DC (before Iphones), I tried to go from Glover Park to family friend's in Arlington and went by Way of China Town (I remember driving past the distinctive archway and knowing I was wayyy off track).

Yes. And to recognize when you are totally going the wrong way.
Good job OP, for not calling, waiting patiently, and seeing the humor!

If she's lost, don't worry, she'll figure it out.

But when teenagers take the car for a sleepover at a friend's house, just know that they're usually not going where you think they are going or hanging out with who you think they are hanging out with or doing what you think they are doing.

OP here; I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you all. I had the screen up to follow up, and my DD saw it and then, well, to quote Ricky Ricardo, "Looosie, you have alot of splainin to do!"

Anyways just want to say she's back, safe and sound, and I feel like this is a huge milestone. She came home with stories, as she discovered how rough some LA drivers can be. I'm super proud of her! Thanks for "listening" and keeping me calm!
