How does it compare to U of South Carolina, overall and for business? Are students generally happy at VT/have you heard good experiences from students? Would love to know anything about the school! TIA!

Great food, excellent atmosphere, good students...but not really a school known for business. If he wants to go out of state, might as well be South Carolina. He might get more aid and the business school is better regarded.

BTW, what’s wrong with UMCP?

USC has the top international business program in the country.

This. And that school is not easy to get into. You apply directly into the international business program.

Off the top of my head i can think of at least two who are early 30’s making 6 figures very happy and successful in different industries, FWIW. Most ppl I know who went there have fond memories and found employment easily once they graduated.

Had no idea it wasn’t thought of highly by most people.

+1. The average starting salary for a VT grad is $70k. Not bad for an undergraduate!

VT 2010 graduate here. I know my info is a bit outdated but I was close to multiple graduates who got picked up by big consulting firms as another PP attested. From what I can tell 10 years out, people are doing very well for themselves.
