Most experts are frauds. Doesn't change anything. |
According to DCUM, the plaintiff in the case should have been an easy admit for top schools as an AA. Somehow, an AA student athlete from Sidwell struck out across the board and sued the school.
But that doesn’t fit the narrative on this board, so that will be overlooked. |
What fits the narrative of the board is PP popping off without knowing anything. |
Any past association with a college admissions "fixer" looks terrible for Sidwell, since all private schools rely on their reputation and credibility (and claims of "diversity"). It will be argued that they deliberately hired a con man and paid him to lie in support of their defense. And indeed, perhaps they did. Perhaps they didn't. Uncertainly does NOT work in their favor... |
Whoever hired him should be fired!! |
This is yet another controversy of perception Sitwell does not need. It seems they’ve been coming in waves. |
Whoever made the decision to hire singer should be fired. |
I would like to see the applicant's grades, stats and list of schools. I remember hearing Sidwell encouraging her to apply to broader basket of schools but she refused. |
Sounds like the parents are nuts if they're appealing this to the Supreme Court. And that the student didn't have very good recs or grades if they're "accusing teachers and administrators of discriminating and retaliating against the teen in ways that had torpedoed her chances of getting into college." |
Maybe the parents are demonstrating why this student didn't get in to their choice schools? |
This isn’t true. There’s a process for determining if they qualify and a process for getting them excluded if they don’t. |
Here's her SC petition for cert - https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/18/18-1356/97268/20190423135437781_Adetu%20Petition%20E%20File%20Apr%2023%202019.pdf
She now runs track at Penn, after getting in after a gap year. Twitter thread with more detail than the LA Times story - https://twitter.com/aaron_leib/status/1129011767168970753

Maybe she had a mediocre high school academic record and aimed too high for mostly Ivys. Affirmative action in college admissions only goes so far. |
So she’s trying to get to the Supreme Court because she’s at Penn and not at Harvard? Her parents should be sanctioned for misusing the court system. |
One would expect the school to come out with a statement about this. No institution wants to be splattered with this guy and his unsavory record. Best for Sidwell to be transparent about how they or their attorneys hired Singer. |
