Best age for children to get a dog

Just saying we got one when dd was between 1yo and 18mo.

It has been awesome. She has never been afraid of him (a golden). Two more kids born after that, and they also LOVE dogs.

4yo’s “favorite animal” is: dogs and puppies. Most kids pick cheetah or giraffe or dolphin, but his is “dogs.”

2yo was at an outdoor party the other day. Old farm dog at our friend’s house is so sweet. DS just loves that dog and is so good to her. It’s the cutest thing to watch.
