You do know that if you accept the seat, you do not lose your spot on the waitlist? Are you at a school that you are happy with now? What was your deciding factor agains MV8?

Yup, all clear on that. Said no to MV8 bc of commute and not being comvinced that it will be the right place for my kid. Obviously dont know the latter for sure, so just following my gut.

where will you be instead? you do know that a dozen elementary schools got new principals last year (https://dcps.dc.gov/page/principal-announcements-school-year-2018-2019) and 14 the year before that (https://dcps.dc.gov/page/principal-announcements-school-year-2017-2018) so the odds of encountering "principal drama" at any school in the next couple years are pretty high, right?

We have a high number at a few nearby schools so will pick one of those. I have great confidence in the leadership at Langley and Seaton and only listed JOW because of the Stuart-Hobson feeder. I figure if we want JOW so badly we will probably get in for an upper grade later.
