COSTCO-Aside from meat, what do you buy and freeze?

Bread, pierogis.

Butter, tortellini, grated Parmigiana, pine nuts, bagels, croissants, guacamole. Probably more things I am not thinking of, but that’s what’s in the freezer right now.

Yes! Cut them in half, remove the pit and skin, cut into whatever sections you want, freeze on a cookie sheet. Once fully frozen, put into freezer-safe bag. Take out servings as needed and thaw. I usually add frozen pieces to smoothies, but you could use them for whatever you need.

I didn't know avocadoes cam freeze either. Do I need to put le.on juice to keep it from browning?

I just thought about salsa-has anyone tried freezing salsa? I always wanted to buy the mango salsa but it's too big for our family.

I’m the avocado pp. I have not have any of my avocados turn brown before freezing them. They will turn after thawing, like a fresh avocado, if you let it sit.

I've never frozen avocados but I freeze the guacamole packages all the time. Just thaw in fridge and it's like new.
I think freezing the salsa will mess with the texture but if you don't care about the texture it's probably fine?

I freeze the megapacks of bacon. Everything else I freeze is normal stuff.

Peeled garlic (large bags)
Shredded cheese
Frozen berries
Butter

A

Also the mini hummus cups. Saves so much wasted hummus from when kids don't finish a regular container within a few days.

Pp, so how do you prevent it from browning while thawing? Will a squeeze of lemon do the trick? So you mush these or serve in chunks?

Nothing. I will only freeze the meat from Costco. I am not nuts enough to buy blocks of cheese.

I freeze stuff if I buy it and happen to have too much leftover but unless you live an hour from Costco and can rarely go, simply running over and buying the baguette fresh is going to be better than pulling an old frozen one out. I am also one of those people who absolutely notices a difference between fresh and frozen/thawed so YMMV.

I absolutely agree! I once froze avocados and hated the taste of it - so different from fresh.

I’ve been on the lookout for peeled garlic but haven’t seen it at Costco.
