anyone here TTC'ing for #2?

14.51 poster here, I can't believe it but happy to update you that I am 4 weeks pregnant with #2. A blood test confirmed it a couple of days ago but my OB/GYN is telling me it's too early to know if this will stick. I'm 41 1/2. I'm excited but worried about the quality of the egg and a MC (natural conception so I have no idea). But, yeah, it can happen.

OP here. Congratulations 7:02!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here's hoping it will stick!

I should know by Christmas if this cycle was a success. Here's hoping Santa brings me that present!

Hurray, hurray! Looks like we're getting lots of BFPs on the board. Best of luck to you.

FWIW, my sister and I are 5.5 years apart, and while we were not close when we were young, we are super close now.

I also am TTC #2. My DS is 16 months old. I am on the third month now - of course, that is not long at all, but we had a lot of trouble TTC DC#1 and ended up going for fertility treatments. I am SO hoping to avoid that this time around. I also am trying to be cool, calm, and collected about it, but it is so hard! Congrats to the PP with a BFP, and baby dust to all!!!

Congrats to PP 7:02. I am sitting here on my post transfer day of rest. Here's hoping Santa (or however) brings all of us another blessing.

I am the PP I quote above. I am pleased to report I am pregnant. Bloodwork, one week apart, puts me at about 5 weeks. That will make the kids 5.5 years apart. Thanks to PP who says she's close with her sister now. I can imagine that DD will get tired over a little sibling pretty fast, but I am glad to hear it might resolve.

I turn 43 next month.

Congrats to you also PP!! My brother and SIL have 3 girls aged 24, 17,12...they started very young obviously, but really wanted the extended time between kids. Each had almost an 'only child' experience but they are getting closer as time goes on and they get older.

I'm so jealous of all the BFPs! Congrats ladies!
We're on month 6 of TTC #2. Went to an RE a week or so ago and got some bad news -- high FSH. We may not have a #2 in our future, which makes me very sad as I'm only 38 and thought I'd be able to have another one.

New to the unfortunate club of having trouble conceiving. When you see a RE, what does the RE look for in terms of problems (secondary infertility)? I have had 2 kids with insta-pregnancies (1st try both times), but now with attempted #3 it's just not happening. Curious what the RE would consider.

I would assume the first thing would be to look at your hormone levels during ovulation.

Cycle Day 3 bloodwork and HSG were ordered before a real review of my issues with the RE. I had heard tales of the HSG helping with pregnancy. It worked for me. All that money spent ($1300 for the blood and $1000 for the HSG (covered by insurance). I won't ever know the numbers, if things progress well.

My husband dragged his feet too and ended up agreeing when I was 43 and our son was 7. Pregnancy (twins) happened a year later and our kids will be 8 years apart! I still thank God they are coming though and our son is very excited to at last be having siblings. I get that the age difference is not ideal but I hope that as they grow older they will get closer.

Aaargh, what is wrong with these husbands?! Mine did the same thing, despite literally YEARS of me telling him we were waiting too long and pushing our luck, and now he finally decided he wants another, he thought it would be a piece of cake, and here we are on month #11 of TTC.

But, this seems to be a lucky thread, and I'm in the 2ww after my first IUI, so I hope I can catch some of that babydust that seems to be going around here! Congrats to the posters who've just gotten great news!

OP here. Cycle #6 has passed and I discovered today that I am not pregnant. And, then, tonight, I am up to 10 friends and acquaintances who will be delivering between March and June. I can't handle it... sigh.

Hugs to you. I'm in the same boat (cycle 6, bfn). The births and pregnancies are very difficult to hear about. Hang in there.

I'm sorry, OP. My AF came this week, too and for some reason it was REALLY hard this time. I can't wait for the holidays to end - I don't want to go to Christmas Eve dinner tonight or on New Years because I don't want to hear another comment like "He needs some brothers and sisters," or "He's so wonderful - you have to have another." I'm ready to slap someone silly, or maybe just wear a sign on my head.
