Same, but if I was shelling out $600/night I’d probably have more money than I do and I’d pay more. I’m more of a $250-300/ night kind of girl.

$5 a night is pretty cheap. And I don't say that on here often. I think per night, I would do 10 at least.

I mean, even if I didn't think housekeeping was backbreaking work in which they made my vacation much better, you're talking about the difference between 605 and 8 or 610 per night. Minimal to you, not so minimal to the staff.

At that price range, look at the optics. They're not great.

For the valet, I do anywhere from 5 to 10. If it's really super busy, and they get my car to make quickly, 10. If I'm only using them on the way in and way out of my staybonly, 10 each time. If I'm using them multiple times a day, 5 or 19 per trip.

I'm a cheap out on a room, or dinner, but I never cheap out on tipping the service industry that supports my stay

Well, it’s normally a $200/night place that has jacked up prices for spring break.

It's the same.amount of work. Do at least 10.

I tend to think $1 a bag is....ok....but has been eroded by inflation a bit (unless they are just taking a bag from your hand and putting it in the trunk of a taxi 5 feet away). I Am more of a couple bucks or $5 for 2 or 3 bags. It also depends on what denominations of cash I happen to have on me!

I hate having to remember to tip housekeeping. I hate when I realize I don't have cash. I hate trying to figure out if I should do it each day or can I just do it once at the end of the week. Also, maybe this makes me cheap, but I hate when I'm traveling for work and feel like I still need to leave cash tip out of my own pocket.

I don't tip housekeeping but I always put the sign up that they don't need to clean my room. I figure they can take a 30 min break and not clean it but say they did.

I leave $5/day for housekeeping (NOT all on the last day because it may be different employees coming in each day). $3 for valet each time I get my car.

$5/day for housekeeping, up to $10 if exceptional and I have the same staffer for my stay. $5 for valet.

I didn’t think tipping was ever included in the service industry unless explicitly stated. I assume the valet kids and housekeepers don’t make more than $12/hr.

NP here. Why is it my problem? I'm paying $600 a night and I'm sorry if the hotel can't use that money to pay their staff a livable wage.
If they want to raise rooms prices to cover it, I'm all for it and I'll gladly pay. But please don't exploit workers and ask me to pay their salaries.

It’s your problem because you make it one. The rest of us accept it as part of the cost of travel.

We tip $5 per night per bedroom. So if it’s a two bedroom suite, we tip $10.

lol no.

Thanks for letting me know
I will no longer be staying at those places

It’s the same for a $200 room.

$10 for valet if they handle bags. $5 for car. $5-$10 a day for housekeeping, depending on if I want extra towels or not.
