| My kids are up early as it is and we love the early games. People will find anything to whine about. |
| There weren't there for soccer, they are just wrapping up from a binger from the night before. You are so McLean! |
I guess all of my kids were abnormal because they went to bed @8pm on Saturday didn't wake up until 10am on Sunday morning when they were between 7 and 12 years old. One is currently playing soccer at UCLA and the other one is currently playing for Penn State. I thought the recommendation is at least 11 hours of sleep each night for kids between five and ten years old, no? Kids should sleep in on both Saturday and Sunday to make up for lost time on weekdays, right? |
I have 2 nine year olds. They have never in their lives woken up later than 8 a.m. What you are describing is an outlier for the younger side of that spectrum. |
| No matter how late my 7 year old goes to bed, she always wakes up at 7:30am. |
Children's Pediatricians recommend that a 7 years old child needs at least 11 hours of rest every day. That's not healthy at all, unless your child go bed @7:30pm. |
What time do these kids normally go to school? |
Unlike in Fairfax County where the oldest kids go to school first, in Loudoun the youngest ones do. My 11 year old is up at 6:15-6:30 everyday. And she does not go to bed before 9. Let's not lame soccer for something the school system does too.... 11 hours is a bit unrealistic for any working family who isn't eating dinner at 5 PM.... |
That's why you have kids make up the sleeping hours on Friday night through Sunday morning.... |
|
This has become the dumbest thread in this forum and that says a lot.

How do propose pp force her child to keep sleeping in the morning? |
Your 12 year old when to bed at 8PM? In what world does a 6th grader go to bed at 8PM? |
| Are your kids pooping enough? Leading pediatricians say it could be a risk if they don’t. |
+1 |
This isn’t really something to be proud of. It is crazy how pervasive so-called “elite” travel sports has become. Some tournaments, yes. Every holiday weekend and summer? No way. But I know, your kid is going pro. |
