Line didn't darken on FRER

OP. Thanks, everyone! First beta is 80. The nurse says they like to see over 50 at this point (9dp5dt) so I'm feeling cautiously optimistic? Won't stop me from googling though!

Very good number for 14dpo. You can go to betabase.info for help obsessing over the numbers .

OP, how is your pregnancy going? Did your 2nd beta go up?

I just got my 1st beta today and it was only 76, similar to yours... and my FRER lines also haven't changed at all since 4 days ago... 2nd beta in 2 days!

+1 me too, sadly.

But then there are happy ending stories as well. Unfortunately you just have to wait, and it is agony.

OP here. My betas went up fine (though not spectacularly) and heartbeat looked good at 7 and 8 weeks. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

I just want to share my experience with betas, FRERS, and darkening lines. I had my beta at 10 days past a 5 day transfer which was 123. I took a FRER that day and got a nice dark line—almost, not quite as dark as the control. 2 days later I took another FRER before my second beta. Wouldn’t you know it, the line was lighter than the line 2 days ago. Of course I thought my HCG decreased. But, no. Beta doubled to 267. If I could give anyone advice, stop HPT testing once you get your beta. You’ll save yourself some stress.

I wanted to also share my experience, because I was freaking myself out at first when my line wasn't darkening. I started with cheap Clinical Guard tests that detect at 25. I got my first faint positive at 4dp5dt and continued testing till beta. The Clinical Guards never got darker, so I bought some FRERs, which did get a bit darker each day, but not much. On 12d5dt it was very dark. On 13dp5dt transfer I got beta of 1821. Assuming it was doubling all along, I would have thought my tests would have been significantly darker. I really thought it could be a chemical early on. Hope this helps someone who is freaking out early on in the TWW.
