Anyone here close off or get estimates to close off a 2 story foyer?

That Apartment Therapy post is amazing! Without any verticle supporting beam in the center, I'd wonder how feasible this is for a larger space?

Funny that the WaPo article about the 2 story foyer as a beast (impractical) is 15 years old. Yet, how long did the 2 story foyer continue? And why would you build one?


Dumb builders think that people value it.

Believe it or not in the south they’re still putting in popcorn ceilings in new houses. No one likes popcorn ceilings!


I like popcorn. I like ceilings.

But I do NOT like them together.

They are awful & I thought that they went out in the 70’s but no- they’ve been alive in the south all these years.
