Talk to me about Native shoes

They can't wear open toed shoes for camps and i hate them wearing sandals for bike riding and long walks. These i hope will work for the warm months!

I get either Keens or Merrells for camps. The native shoes don't feel like they are good for hiking or long walks.

He's not picky about shoes, but flat-out refused these after this happened a few times. Also - at the playground, little bits of woodchip get in the holds. Not comfy. Tried sock, but just gave up as the little splinters work their way into the socks too.

The wood chips are the main reason I can't do there. But I make my kids wear sneakers all summer to preschool, and we wear sandals at home etc. I'm investing in keens this year instead of Target knock offs. Wish me luck! ha.

+1, kids said they hurt, seemed to be narrow... also 5yo DD had a hard time getting them on/off

I just got Keens for $15 at Nordstrom Rack.

I mean. I got eaten alive on here for saying it, but I LOVE the adult's native shoes... https://www.nativeshoes.com/audrey?92=507&139=276&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjofh1PKO4QIVwyaGCh2q8waeEAQYASABEgI4sfD_BwE LOVE them. So comfy, no blisters, no stink.

Are these the same material as crocs?

Do they last? Yes
Do you wear socks? No
Do they smell? Not at all and easy to wash
Do they run large/small/just right? A tad small -round up 1/2 size

Other thoughts? Looking for an 8 and 5 year old

Have loved ours for 4 and 6yo

How do Natives compare to Keens?

Much better, from an olfactory perspective! DC1 can't wear Keens because they make his feel smell stink, so much so that DC2 has never tried Keens.

Must vary by child. My kids found Keens more comfortable than natives by a lot. And they didn’t stink any more than any other shoe.

I see mostly younger ages on this thread. My sons are 10 and have been wearing the sketcher version knockoffs for the past few summers. Do older kids wear them, or are they mostly for younger ones? My boys are no shoe snobs. In fact, they can be somewhat fashion oblivious. But they like wearing no socks in the summer and the natives worked for us. But will they be scoffed at?

Has anyone tried the Plae Mimo shoes? Natives are too narrow my DS. We had luck with Toms Rompers when they were toddlers.

natives are the best. cute, no stink, easy to clean. my 6 year old had to be pried out of the when it got too cold. no socks unless they want them.
