How much time do you spend thinking about what your kid would be like without his/her disability?

Same for me. My kid is who she is because of her disabilities. I wish she didn't have these challenges -- they break my heart every day -- but I cannot imagine the person she would be without them.

No. But my dd’s deficits are pretty mild. She has a vision issue that cannot be corrected. And she has a learning disability. But whenever my mind goes to the what if’s I feel guilty because things could be worse. I feel like I should be thankful for what she can do and just stop.
