3 boys. Older 2 (including 1 SN), never. Youngest... so many times. He loved helping clean it off, so that wasn’t a deterrent. It’s easy to say hide the crayons, markers, pens, pencils, etc, but occasionally my older 2 have accidentally left something out that my youngest grabs. He’s also gotten into my purse & used lipgloss on the walls. He’s now 3 & hasn’t done it in quite awhile, so hopefully we’re past it. |

Never. But then again, she never had access to markers or crayons. |
I remember taking a highlighter, putting it against the wall on the main floor of our house, and walking all the way upstairs and back. lol Once my mom found out, I learned to never do it again! ![]() |
My SN child never ever did it. We did not give him access to things that would allow him to but it has nothing to do with SN or not, but parenting. This is your fault, not theirs. |
Never. One was on OT until age 4. |
My 2 yo daughter did it once or twice, and then I spent a fortune on those washable crayons and she stopped for whatever reason. |
Ahh now the parent blaming. |
How unfortunate for your SN kid. |
Yes. Wrote her name on the inside of her lampshade. M A G G I E. Then said it wasn’t her, my mom must have done it. ![]() |
Same here. They are now five and eight and it would never occur to them. Never did it when younger either. |
I have 2 kids 6 and 3. My DS wrote on the fridge once, at age 2 and that was it. |
My three year old did once. She came and asked if she could draw a rainbow. Of course, I said yes thinking she meant at her little art station. Nope, she meant a large crayon rainbow across our kitchen wall. After she cleaned it, it never happened again! |
Never. |
My high functioning ASD child did this twice. Once when she was two and it was with a sharpie. Then the second time she was 9 or so and with a pencil. She had to clean that one up and she hasn’t done it again since. This is was a couple of years ago.
My youngest, NT kid, has never done this. Not one time. I also don’t remember ever telling her not to. |
