Are you kidding ?!?! Like ther wouldn't be 500 posters on this thread mentioning that she was a republican, if she was? Get over your sanctimonious self
|
Well, being a democrat legislator, it's presumbale that she hangs out with other democrats and fellow progressives. So, that's who's using the word around her. |
| Harford is the Roanoke of MD. |
This |
Then what is cecil? |
| What's wrong with Roanoke? |
Roanoke has traditionally been the biggest hot bed of KKK activity in Virginia. Going back to the 1800s. |
Really? Both my parents are from there. Lots of other family, too. Never heard a thing about it. Like, never. You sure it was Roanoke you’re thinking of? Not Richmond? Or Danville ? |
Really? I was born there and moved to DC area as a kid, but my recollection was that it was largely white ethnic and military (Aberdeen Proving Ground). More like eastern PA than VA. |
I was also born in Harford . But my parents lived in Port Deposit at the time. I lived in Cecil County until I was 13. If your argument is about KKK activity, I believe that was worse in Cecil (I never saw it, but it was definitely there)
|
Or Lynchburg????? Sorry, Roanoke is not and has never been an epicenter of kkk activity in Virginia. Roanoke is a railroad town. Railroad towns, throughout history, have tended to be the most integrated cities in the 19th and 20th centuries. People from everywhere, getting mixed together by virtue of train travel and railroad jobs. Plus, Roanoke, being in a relatively small mountain valley subject to flooding, and having generally poor, rocky soil, didn’t have a Antebellum plantation culture that was dependent on huge numbers of slaves to do agricultural work. Very, very few slaves in that part of Virginia. |

It's one thing for a governor tho dress up in his Klan outfit in medical school (and his wife to hand cotton to black children in2019).
But to actually say the N-word out loud? OMG! She clearly must resign!! |
| It's embarrassing for her and the Democratic party that she won't step down. The vast majority of public sentiment is that she should have resigned. But she refused. So, she has made history as the first MD state legislator to be censured (formally and officially reprimanded) ever. And it was done unanimously by her peers. Now, despite the huge public outcry, she is still refusing to resign her office. She has been stripped of her leadership position and basically she is persona non grata in the House of Delegates. She is doing her county a disservice by staying since she has effectively lost the ability to represent her constituency. Yes, she will be able to vote on bills and actions that come across the floor, but no one is going to work with her and no one else is going to champion her constituents for her. In addition to a racist, she's an amazingly selfish woman putting her own personal atonement above the needs of her constituents. She is the type who makes politicians look bad, regardless of party. |
| She is an offensive redneck who needs to be publicly humiliated and not merely removed lawfully from office. |
