ERHS / Eleanor Roosevelt letters are out

I know someone who received a "not eligible" letter today.

That's messed up. My child tells me two of her friends say they have received two letters also -- one saying eligible and one saying "not eligible".

Copying from a listserve: If PGCPS sent a letter saying your child is "not eligible" for sci/tech or aero/aviation programs for high school, please call 301 702 3860 and confirm. The county mistakenly sent out "not eligible" letters to some students who in fact made the cut. The cutoff score is 2374.

Wrong.

Has "your score" which many probably could have calculated anyway. But does not have any other info, which is disappointing.

So...who had what... and yea or nay?

My kids score was high (well over 2600) but I bet some parents want to know what the minimum admitted was.

My child didn't receive a letter today, but has a score of 2510. All her friends have heard yes or waitlisted, but I don't know what scores they had. She thinks the waitlisted one had a score of around 2300 though.

Thank you for sharing this.

My DD got 2300, and she was placed on the waiting list. Do you think she would still have a chance or are the scores too far apart?

I know kids who got off the wait list last year by about the beginning of July. Hang in there, I think there's a lot of movement.

Yes, absolutely. The list does move. She should go to the open house for sure.

What's this ERHS Science and Tech "Summer Bridge" Program for 9th graders about?

Mandatory for ALL Science and Tech rising 9th graders? This is the first I have heard of something like this.

I hear you. We have summer plans for part of the time already.

But what is the program, even? Usually Summer Bridge programs are for kids who need some extra help. Is it summer school? What do the kids do from 9 to 3 every day for 3 weeks exactly? I am highly dubious that this will be useful or of interest to my child.
Anonymous
Mandatory three weeks of summer school is asking too much. We will wait for an explanation at the open house, then decide how many days to attend. We're thinking one week.

I've got two kids at ERHS now and they agree that this is crazy.

Wow, when my child got accepted 2 years ago, there was a summer school option for new Science and Tech 9th graders included in the letter but it wasn't mandatory.
