Am I gaining weight from weight lifting?

I know it’s not much but could I be gaining weight from this program? I know muscle weighs more than fat but I didn’t expect to see it on the scale. Thanks

Muscle does not weigh more that fat. Stop saying that, it makes you sound stupid. Muscle is more *dense* than fat, so an equal amount of it has less volume. Which weighs more, 50 lbs of lead or 50 lbs of feathers?

Given you weigh so little, you may actually find that some of your clothes start to feel tight in certain areas as you gain a little muscle mass. Do not worry, you will not bulk up. Ypu will look better. But when I was at a lighter weight for my body, weight lifting made me need to buy bigger clothes. It was not that I looked bigger or bulkier. I looked great. I looked thinner. Clothes just fit different. Since you seem anxious about 2 pounds, I wanted to warn you.

She didn't gain muscle mass in 4 piddly weeks. It's HARD to grow muscle. She's seeing an increase in glycogen stores and water on the scale.

So if you clean up your diet and have a calorie deficit, how will your body change? Do you need cardio to lose weight?

The only thing you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit.

This. Even starting up a walking/jogging routine can lead to this because you are starting to build muscle in your legs/butt and your muscles need increased glycogen/water as your circulatory system branches out to keep your body fueled.

Yep. You can create a calorie deficit sitting on your couch all day and keeping your calories below weight maintenance level.

If you do not weight train or do anything to maintain muscle as you lose "weight" that weight will consist of losing fat as well as losing muscle. Which is why strength training is so important with weight loss. When talking about weight loss, most people are talking about wanting to lose fat not muscle.
