This. I wouldn't do it, especially for the same price I was paying before. You've got to decrease the amount the other party pays as well as increase the nanny's pay.


+1 Why would the other family agree to what you're proposing.

I know this post is older, but I am curious as to what happened. Personally, as a career nanny, I think adding $5/hr is fair and splitting equally per child.

We did this. We were the family with the singleton. The older two were a little farther apart in age, though. My child aged out of the share after about a year, and the nanny stayed with the other family for another year or so.

It was worth it to us for the continuity of care. She'd been watching him since he was a tiny baby, and our child loved her dearly.

I would do $8 or $9 per kid, so $24 or $27 total.


You would also be looking for a new nanny.
