Gave birth at Sibley in november and I have the SS card

I gave birth in September at Sibley and received baby's SS card 4 weeks later.

Gave birth mid-Jan at Sibley and still don't have it.

Anybody knows what the quicker way is: check the box on the hospital form and wait for SSN or go to the SSN Office myself and request it there? We need it quick, for the passport...

I gave birth in September at Sibley and we never got a social security card. They said they mailed, but we never received it. I went into the SS office to get a card so we could do our taxes. They accepted his insurance card as ID (but said his birth certificate was not valid ID, go figure).
