| I heard that a chicken shot the coach with a kid's paintball gun. In the library. |
ha ha I'm sure they would all have trouble finding a library. |
verbally abusive, demeaning and belittling players is what I heard |
| McLean has the same issues on the u9-u12 girls side. Their most abrasive coach was elevated to Age Group Director. Instead of firing him--they promoted him. He barely showed up at his girls' games and they usually had a substitute coach (who barely knew the girls). I've seen parents of opposing teams laugh out loud at some of his antics. For the older girls--they've lost 2 ECNL coaches over the past 6 months (Cyndi and Spencer). McLean continues to go downhill. Lots of coaching turnover year over year... |
+1 We know several parents who are either not happy, or looking at other clubs, because of the Girls TD's influence. My DD is trying out for U9 in Spring and I am not happy about it. The story goes that the prior TD left for US Soccer and this was the best choice for a replacement??? I do agree on the coaching turnover and it always being high for some reason. Our older child left and plays at a different club, but there was definitely a lot of coaching hires and replacements then too. It seems a lot of this would be fixed by stronger oversight. On the other hand, I do know that many parents are hesitant to report to the BOD or DOC out of fear their kid gets penalized. That would include us.
There is a lot of good at the club that gets ignored by the shadow of all this recurring stuff in McLean. Some real good coaches and kids. |
Did he have a broken leg or something this past season? Is that why he missed time? |
| Coach has meeting with TD or DOC, Associate DOC, or club director. Coach is informed that they are being let go for X reason/s, sometimes with an official letter. Coach is let go. End of story. Sorry you aren't going to know what was said during the conversation. |
| jahon hated the SOB and ran to clydelyde or keith to fire him. Lol. |
So why are you letting your kid try out then? I have a current U8 and you're scaring me away. Why not take your daughter to your son's club? |
The U9-U12 Boys AGD is a great coach. He saved a lot of kids and parents from leaving the club by working to fix past mistakes. |
In a nutshell, friendships. That's the driver when younger. Her friends' parents are aware of these issues, but don't really understand the dynamics and craziness that goes on behind the club soccer scene. This guy apparently turned on fellow coaches, parents, and little girls pay the price. Do you really throw the baby out with the bathwater, and try to talk your DD into some new club with no friends at U9? Maybe you do, but that sucks. |
What are you trying to hide? |

Op is just trying to stir the pot unnecessarily
OP suggests she/he just ‘happened’ to save all the coach’s names from clubs her son is not affiliated with and just happened to notice 6 months later that one coach is no longer listed. She also ‘happens’ to have heard he was a great coach. I call BS. She clearly knows this coach was fired and she clearly knows people at the club who she can get information from vs posting his name and bio on a public Board to solicit info. The club got rid of a bad coach that was not a good fit that the parents were not happy with. The Club acted swiftly to find a better fit. No need to drag somebodys name through the mud...especially when it is no longer anonymous because you list his name and his bio... |
| Chill out dude. |
Are you sure this is how it happened? |
