Snowing here and sticking—early dismissals?

How would an early dismissal help?

The dusting to 1” that they were calling for last night for the metropolitan area has become 1-2”, possibly more in the northernmost part of MoCo. An hour ago, NBC’s meteorologist said it would snow for the next 6-7 hours. I thought MCPS made a good call this morning, but now I’m having some doubt.

It was very hard to drive today. I had to use the break way before than usual. Only the main roads are fine.

It will be gone by regular dismissal time. If they close early it would be worse.

You must know that this is normal. It happens. Much better your kid be outside and slip on ice then be inside on an ipad all day.

You are crazy. A concussion is better than using an iPad?!? Nut job.

Roads are now on second sand and salting.
My 7:30am commute did fine, my 8am start kid did fine, my 8am start kid did fine and I got downtown in 20 mins.
nBd.

- Snow in Rockville started at 8 AM. So your commute is kind of irrelevant since it was prior to snow's beginning.

- Weather forecast I heard said snow until 3 PM.

- I don't think it makes sense to change to an early closing due to additional stress it will put on traffic and roads. (MCPS has less than an hour to make this decision anyway.)

- I *would* like MCPS to explain something about why they were business as usual, with the exception of their 8:48 announcement on website that says "Opening on time." Obviously, they were getting lots of calls from ES parents. (Or complaints on social media!)

Some people don’t care how absurd their argument is; they just want to argue.

This. It'd be better to let the road crews handle it for a few hours than for everyone to go out right now when it's the worst it's going to be.
