High Turnover at Little Beginnings

Ask the director about the recent turnover and what the school is doing to keep or recruit new teachers and also about the tenure of the assistant teachers in whatever classroom you got into. I would also go and observe the class one morning to see how the teachers interact with the students and if you can, also check out the classroom your child would be in the following year since some of the anonymous comments on here may be about a different class, but one your child may be in in the future.

That’s the big problem there she can’t run the center properly because she listens to that teacher about what an how to do in certain situations

I have no skin in the game other than being on the LB wait list, but it’s a real shame about all this. There aren’t very many excellent child care centers around, and it sounds like the director at LB is ruining it bc of her relationship with one teacher. What a shame! I hope she opens her eyes in time to right the ship.

What are the issues that can possibly be so contentious that people leave? Isn’t LB a co-op, so isn’t there a board minding the ship?

Board doesn't care in my opinion. The board doesn't hire/fire that's the directors job. These are the exact words that came out of the Presidents mouth.

The board tried to create some incentives for staff but in reality they're all looking for a new job.

Would the board ever get rid of the director? Such high teacher turnover would indicate an issue at the top.

Who knows....Staff expressed their frustrations but nothing's being done.

I’ve gotten the definite sense that the director has low self-esteem. Not to be an armchair psychologist but she seems to have latched onto that teacher as her guru.

And the result is having all of her staff quit. I wish the parents would rally and speak up.
