Interesting. Weighted 4.3 wasn't good enough maybe?

DD denied. OOS. 36 GPA. 3.9 UW GPA. Admitted to other top 20 schools. Not her top choice so it’s fine.

Daughter accepted. OOS but not international. 34 ACT. French Baccalaureate HS program with science specialty and OIB option. US equivalent of 4.0 GPA unweighted.

Published scientific research and national finals of an entrepreneurship competition.

She was deferred in Stanford's REA round.

NoVA; 3.7 unweighted; 4.06 weighted; 32 ACT; 10 AP classes; lots of extracurriculars = Accepted

Isn't the 40,000 total applications both EA and Regular? The last time I checked the Admissions blog, there were only 24,000 some EA applications. And I think the 3,700 whatever will be the full class of 2023, right?

ONLY 24,000?!?!?!??!

I can't believe you used the word only. That's a lot for 3700.

Unfortunately the state schools only care about weighted GPA’s

Even UMD is rejecting those stats.

Except it’s true, don’t blame it on UMD poster. The grammar is too good.

You're probably right. I guess there was just that something special that shone through in the essays and teacher recommendation.

I like that. I want to see a more holistic approach. Not all great students are great test takers.
