Less expensive alternative to a minivan?

I wouldn’t buy a Mazda5. Mazda doesn’t even make them anymore.

2015 was the last model year for the Mazda5 in the USA. Further, it is not a particularly safe vehicle

My 2006 odyssey is still running great. You can probably get a 2010 for $10k or less.

Look for a used minivan. I recently bought 2017 Pacifica and it’s great. It has less than 38,000 miles and cost less than $22000. It had been a rental car in Wyoming.

I'd get a used Chrysler van. They are not so expensive and you'll get a lot of use out of it.

I don't want to jinx myself, but our 2011 Sienna has 100,000 miles and is running great. I hope to get another 8+ years out of it and then not to need a minivan anymore. (Kids will then be 14 and 18). If I were you, I'd look at a used minivan.

+1 OP, how much longer will you be in the minivan years? if it's not that much longer, then it might make sense to keep it running and then buy something smaller when the kids are old enough.

Oof. OP, don't buy a former rental car.
