Me, too. But after holiday indulgences, I'm at 175. Ugh. PP's post is right on. Yesterday, I was feeling hungry and stressed and really wanted something sweet. Somehow, I resisted. But I know that won't be the case every time. I'll be following this thread -- let's post tips here so we can get to our goal this summer!! |
Do you like dark chocolate? When those moods strike, I eat two Ghirardelli squares, it’s 130 calories and I am completely satiated afterwards. |
| When I want something sweet I eat a dill pickle. It calms my craving. |
Eating too much is also an eating disorder and is the most common one |
They aren’t even sweet lol |

Some youtuber tried Tom Brady's diet and she lost ton of weight, which was not good for her as she was skinny. Maybe check that diet out?
I used to think low carb was good, but as I am older I crave carbs. I think some form of Mediterranean diet might be the healthiest choice. https://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/a19996456/mediterranean-diet-results/ I agree with the Weight Watchers pp, it is hard sticking to it and for that you need support. I've done IF few times(not for days on end) and once you get used to eating less, your appetite goes down. But, it is not viable in the long term for me. |
Yep. Not an eating disorder. I just wanted a diet that actually gave me results. So far Keto with intermittent fasting has been great. I've lost nearly 30 pounds since October. A diet working like that for me feels like a miracle. I generally do a 16-8 fast on most days which means 2 meals a day for me. I completely avoid snacking. I eat lots of vegetables and low sugar fruit (like berries). I eat meat, fish, cheese, nuts, olives, butter. I even drink wine on the weekends. I also enjoy foods like Real Good brand pizza and enchiladas, as well as, bratwurst. Granted, I do keep my portions and my macros in mind at each meal. You will not lose weight unless you create a calorie deficit. That is true of any diet. It's a diet but it isn't torture to be on. I mostly eat highly nutritious foods but there is room for pork rinds and cheese dip on the weekend. It's important to get your vitamins and minerals because that is what keeps you looking and feeling good. I don't go crazy eating "fat bombs" or adding fat into my coffee, etc. I prefer to get my calories in actual meals. But that's my preference. Do whatever works for you. |
That’s the point. It eliminates the craving without extra sugar. |
DP. I do something almost exactly the same! But, bread and butter pickles, which are technically with sugar, right? |
|
When you stay away from sugar for awhile you would be surprised at how tooth achingly sweet some things taste.
I actually don't miss it that much. |
Yes they have sugar. There is something scientific on why pickled food satisfies sweet cravings, but I can remember what. |

On low cal I gain the weight back immediately.
I did low carb and lost 17 pounds and it took about 9 months for it to all go come back bc my eating and drinking went over the top. I say do low carb. It completely eliminates certain foods. On low cal you can have whatever as long as you’re under a calorie amount and it was just too hard to control. Low carb is much simpler. I didn’t do keto, I ate fruit and veggies. It worked well and fast (but not so fast I got saggy skin) |
So, more like Mediterranean diet? I am trying to eat that way now, I like Italian food, but I have tomato, peppers, raw onion sensitivity, or more like intolerance, I will throw up...But, I can eat cooked tomatoes and onions. I think this is common, but pain in the... It seems to be getting worse older I get. I can't just go to my tomatoes and feta salad for lunch anymore. May I ask what was your daily menu on this diet? Thanks! |
Preach. Some of us have to be a little more meticulous in our dieting. Not sure why it bothers you. |
| Keto for sure. NO CHEAT MEALS |
