If you had a very quick labor - what did you do for subsequent pregnancies?

A 3-4 hour labor I believe and less than 2 hours is definitely understandable with pitocin.

50 minutes still seems unreal, but I guess anything is possible!

Again, OP, I would probably try for a home birth and read up on how to handle an emergency birth situation without a doctor or midwife present.

A friend had her baby in 45 minutes, but her body essentially went into shock after the baby was born.

They gave me Epidural but I don't think it even took effect since they had taken so long to administer it.

This time, my OB is probably going to induce me a day or two before the due date so that I can be more prepared and not be in so much pain without the Epidural.

This is exactly what happend to me, except that I never got my epidural. I didn't even have time to get the antibiotics for the Group B Strep that I had tested positive for a few weeks earlier. My OB always calls it an "easy delivery". Easy for him. I had my son on Thursday night/Friday morning so it didn't even ruin is weekend plans. I pushed so hard that I blew out the capillaries in my face and in my eyes. It was so painful. I just wanted it to be over with. I also tore so bad that I had trouble sitting down and getting up for a couple of weeks. It took me nine weeks before I could go back to my aerobics class and feel confident that I wouldn't pee myself when I was jumping up and down.

My OB is suggesting that I get induced this time to make sure I can get to the hospital in time and also to make sure I can get my epidural and have a "better" birthing experience. I'm inclined to go along with his suggestion.
