I don't like sports so there is no way in hell I would marry a pro athlete.

Ovi is 33 - he just has gray hair. I think they are 9 years apart in age.

Everything, and I mean everything, is pegged to Daddy's job, how he is playing, how the team is doing, how he is getting treated, the ins and outs of his contract, how his body is holding up, etc. Vacations are scheduled around it, baby's births (some of them) have been scheduled around it, everything. Plus, as someone else pointed out, everywhere you turn there is some woman making a play for your family guy, who is on the road a lot, hanging around with a bunch of single guys who are living the bar life. These women may look soft and pretty on the outside but they have to be tough to deal with all the challenges of the world they're in. It takes a strong woman to keep her marriage happy and healthy, and to raise semi-normal kids, when the husband is a professional athlete. If they can do it and still be happy then more power to them!

+1

I know a couple of pro athletes' wives (they are all college or even high school sweethearts, I went to a huge sports high school followed by a huge sports college). It's a tough life with very little freedom in many ways.

I’d hate a life where my husband was away from home most of theyear and have no long term certainty of where you’ll live.

Oh, come on people. It’s not like they are married to some newly-enlisted Army recruit facing multiple deployments. I’m happy for them and know they are beautiful and nice, but let’s not pretend that the money and fame doesn’t make life a lot easier.

Sure it makes like easier - but I don’t hear about many happy pro athlete families, more the cheating and loneliness. If everyone in the bargain is happy with what they get out of it then I’m happy for them, but personally I’ll take my more modest house and looks and loyal husband who has time for us and friends/community who are there for us in a real way

Bc cheating stories are more interesting. No one wants to hear the good bc that’s boring. There are plenty of athlete families that are happy. You just don’t hear that much about them. Lebron James and Steph Curry have never been caught cheating.

These guys bring home 5-8 mil per year. Perfect physical shape... you wouldn’t marry them?

Nope! Not me. You can be in shape and not be a professional athlete.

Don’t worry. You have no chance anyway.

It’s more that cheating is ingrained in the lifestyle from where mistresses sit to watch, hotel floor they stay in and players covering for each other. I would be eaten alive by suspicion, not a life for me but happy for those that enjoy it and make it work.

So all athletes are cheaters? Generalize much? Why can’t you just be happy for them? Why do you have to assume there must be something wrong with these beautiful couples?

lol do you know ANYTHING about the NBA? I have no idea about hockey but the vast majority of basketball players seem to get caught cheating.
