I was 207 at the end of 2016. I blame it on depressed eating, struggling with infertility, and caving into all sweets.
I was 120 at my skinniest and 150 is my perfect weight. 5’7” female I lost 37lbs in 2017 and maintained the weight through 2018. I’m 170 now and determined to get back to 150 this year |
That’s awesome, congratulations! |
That’s great! This is inspiring. |
OP here. How long ago were you around 120? |
Op here. I totally get what you’re saying. Just keep at it. You are doing great and I’m sure you are looking better and better. You sound like me. I think we would be friends IRL. |

I'm 5'9". My thinnest was 6 years ago (right before I got pregnant) when I weighed 150 and wore an 8 / 10. I wasn't particularly strong, I just walked miles every day. Looking at pictures, I think my face was a little too thin at that weight.
I'm currently 193 and wear a 16. I'm actively losing weight, since November when I weighed 205. It's been difficult during the holidays but I'm trying to focus on diet and strength right now. My goal weight is 160. |
I don't aspire to be "skinny". Who wants that? I want to be fit or thin. Skinny is an insult to me. |
| OP, I’m going to try exercising again. I haven’t in awhile and I feel no motivation except the promise of a new year. I live near hiking trails so I’m going to do that a few times a week, plus take my dog on longer walks, and of course eat way less. I don’t have an eating “plan” maybe I need one? I know people love WW, but its not for me. I like cutting sugar and calories and carbs, not counting points |

Hi. I am 5’5” and my marriage weight 15 years ago was 140/145 (my thinnest was 130). I looked good/was curvy and fit. When I was wheeled in to give birth to my second child 8 years ago, I weighed between 240-245.
It took me 7.5 years, and many fits and starts, but today I weighed in at 145. I have been maintaining for 4 months and it is definitely harder to maintain than we think it will be. Hang in there, OP. If you find the will, you can make it happen. |
Congrats! What part of maintaining has been challengingly? |
| I'm 5'4.....as an adult 140 was a size 8 for me and was my thinnest after kid number 1. Currently been 230 for about a year, yo-yoing back and forth for the past 7 years between 175-230. I've been doing Keto for 3 months and have lost 20 pounds. I'm going to keep it up and add in some exercise. I would like to get back to a size 8/10. This seems to be the best diet for me. I'm happy on it and don't feel deprived |
Not PP, but I lost 50 lbs about 5 years ago (220 to 170, I’m 5’ 9”) and losing was easy compared to maintaining. I am actually 15 lbs up right now and have to whack it back. It’s hard because your body desperately wants to regain the weight and you have to continuously find ways to get around it. I do a new kind of diet every year or so - it seems to startle my body into letting go of the weight it wants to regain. But honestly, if you are losing a significant amount of weight realize you will never be the same as someone who was never obese. You will have to have food rules and restrictions forever. That said, I feel so, so much better than I did! My heath issues disappeared and I have sports I love to participate in. When I gain weight back, as I have, I start to feel it in my body and that motivates me to find a way to get back to baseline. |
I was never thin, per se, but hovered around 140-145 (I’m 5’7”). Now I’m 185 Last year at this time I was 195, though. Hoping to lose 25 pounds this year.

| I got up to 240. I had weight loss surgery, and it's been a godsend. There's no way I could have lost 100 pounds otherwise through diet and exercise -- I know, because I tried everything out there. If you are that heavy, it may be something to consider, although obviously not for everyone. But I feel like it gave me a chance to be healthy again, and I'm now an exercise fanatic and feel great. |
| For those who lost weight, I’d becirios about how you did it. |
