Virginia is a blue state. Maryland should learn from Virginia.

Taxes sucked and corrupt as hell. Schools sucked too and so much wasted money on illegals.....Lots of tech companies could not compete with the high cost of doing business.

I came to VA for lower taxes, better schools, better job options. As more people move in from Mass, NY, Maryland they vote the same way that will raise their taxes and give more money to social services. Hence, they will create the same problem that caused them to complain and move in the first place.

How many people move to VA from MD since they are fed up with Taxes, policy and then vote the same way that ruined MD.

So what you’re saying is you like cities that attract business and high paying jobs, but you don’t like it when the smart people that come for those jobs vote?
I’m sure you can find a rural village in Mississippi where you can stick to people who think and vote like you.

The liberals are like locusts.

The fly in to escape what they destroyed, then create the same situation in the new place, destroy that, then move to a new place to destroy it too.

VA is better run because it is more conservative.

Western MoCo aligns much more closely to VA but the areas in the east are very leftist and the term social justice warrior doesn't get eye rolls but claps. The mess in MD does reflect the people who come out and vote in the greatest numbers. I don't see this changing anytime soon. The east can be social warriors because they are funded by the west. The people in the west can't do much about it other than leave which many do and end up in VA.

Therein lies the problem if people who pay more in taxes and vote more moderately pack up and leave a higher concentration of Leftists.
But you’re wrong about it only being the east. It’s not just Silver Spring that votes for Marxists. Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Rockville all voted for Jealous, Elrich, and every socialist in between by a substantial margin. It’s just that in Silver Spring if you DON’T vote for your Comrades they’ll send you to a re-education camp to become Woke.

And yet for some reason big businesses want to come to these liberal hell holes in VA and not backwater conservative areas. Huh.

I agree. They aren't too conservative but definitely moreso than MD.

I'm a little concerned with the direction Fairfax is going in terms of the sanctuary city nonsense though.

Agree wholly. I'm from MA and I'll contemplate retiring to the Cape, but don't want to live elsewhere (though we don't have to worry about the schools anymore).

What will happen when the libs turn everywhere blue and then have to live in their own cesspool? Will be fun to watch.

The spectrum is more liberal in Maryland than Virginia. Republicans in MD are more like Hogan; many Republicans in Virginia are like Stewart. As between the two, I'll take MD any day and twice onSunday.

When Trump leaves the WH, do you think he will go live in a red state like WV or go back to his blue state of NY, and the very blue city of NYC?

Thank goodness we’ve beaten back that bullshit

And we’re going to get some common sense gun legislation passed in the home of the NRA, too

And a nova female delegate is now the head of the party caucus. Can I get a hell yeah?

Heck yeah!
And I'm a Virginian who lives in MD. Only a few years ago I was hanging my head in shame at the "let no ultrasound providder b

It’s a mental illness.

I moved to Va because I got a job in Alexandria. I later switched to a job in DC, but we had made a bunch of friends here, and we stayed. I am proud to have helped move Va purple (it's not blue in the General Assembly). I am glad the GA finally passed Medicaid expansion and support my legislators in pushing for more progressive legislation. It will make Va stronger. And none of the states I live in previously is a hell hole.

How about this, there are lots of red states you can go to. Funny that those hell holes have all of the jobs. Why don't those companies move to Alabama?

I really do wonder why all of the economic growth is on the coasts while people are poor as hell in red states. Destroy? You need to worry about your own people. The poor ones in red states. I'm good thanks.
