What size bottle is it? How many ounces? What brand?
I assume it was not in its box? |

I found a pair of thongs in a drawer in my bedroom one day. My FWB said they weren't hers. The woman I'd stopped seeing previously said they weren't hers. I never figured out who they belonged to. I assume one of the two of them planted them to either mark their territory or to see if I was sleeping with someone else and wouldn't say anything out of fear of asking the wrong woman.
That's probably what's going on with your situation. |

I am a straight man.
I am truly weirded out. It was a Prada Candy perfume in a sample, spray size bottle. |
I mean...did you just move there? How is it possible that your friend and your new partner are the only women who have ever been in your house? |
| Klepto Kiddo in the house? |
Oh, that had to have slipped out of someone's purse and fallen into the couch. Maybe even your girlfriend had it in her own purse w/o realizing it - salespeople at the perfume counters give you all sorts of stuff. Another possibility is that it was tucked into a gift that your girlfriend received or it could have even come with a cosmetics order that she purchased oniine from Sephora or Ulta. It fell out of something and you all never even realized it was there. |
This. Obviously it’s this. A full-size perfume bottle would be a mystery but a sample size fell out of something. |
| I am thinking it's the sitter who planted it there. That's the most logical explanation. Why? I do not know but I think that's what's happened |
| I have a 3 year old and I've found all sorts of things in her pockets. I'm guessing its hers from your ex-wife. |
A pair of thongs, as in, two thongs? |
Just say new girlfriend then. You are the one that sounds weird. |
Are you the OP? If so you sound paranoid. More likely than not it slipped out of your GF’s bag. |
| Why would the sitter plant it? Seems a strange thing to do and no logic to it really. What would she hope to achieve? |
|
You sound paranoid and looking for trouble.
A sample size perfume could have fallen out of a purse, gift, or box where it was a free sample. Your relationship is doomed if you're automatically looking for reasons that something is up rather than thinking it was a logical explanation. |

I have a mystery object in my house as well. We had recently reupholstered a sofa and had few people over right after the sofa came home. A few days after that I found an item in the sofa and nobody who'd been there (I asked them all) claimed it wasn't theirs. It was obviously not new, it was something that a parent would give their child and say, this was mine when I was a kid.
I still have it. |
