And for accounting, I know it's numbers, but there must be some words in those spreadsheets? I want to help my child on the right path and show him some options now, especially since these days it seems the kids have to specialize and choose their careers even as they're applying to college!
Has anyone recommended The Dyslexia Empowerment Plan book to you yet? Its a good one - helps identify strengths, and then take a strengths-based approach to letting kid find their way. Dyslexic strengths are weird - I am the dyslexic English major from above. I write for a living, more or less - I design strategies and solve problems and then write them up in ways that people find compelling and understandable. I couldn't have planned my career. But following my interests and strengths bit by bit got me here. And your kid will find that overcoming dyslexic weaknesses is a pain in the behind when you aren't interested in something, but when you are passionate about it you dig in and find work arounds. Read the book - I found it very helpful.
