Has anyone recommended The Dyslexia Empowerment Plan book to you yet? Its a good one - helps identify strengths, and then take a strengths-based approach to letting kid find their way. Dyslexic strengths are weird - I am the dyslexic English major from above. I write for a living, more or less - I design strategies and solve problems and then write them up in ways that people find compelling and understandable. I couldn't have planned my career. But following my interests and strengths bit by bit got me here. And your kid will find that overcoming dyslexic weaknesses is a pain in the behind when you aren't interested in something, but when you are passionate about it you dig in and find work arounds. Read the book - I found it very helpful.[/quote]
