Veritas Collegiate Academy in Fairfax

Just recently stumbled upon this. My child attends this school, and it has been the best move we have ever made. They are not part of a church, but independent, and non-denominational. Checked with AdvancED accrediting organization and their main campus in Chesapeake, which they are a branch of, is Accredited by them, and as I understand from AdvancED, they are in process of gaining an accreditation over all of their campuses. The cost of the school is very reasonable v. other private Christian schools in the area. I'm a bit angry at the racist comments about Chinese and White Americans. I've spoke to a number of faculty, and no one knows anything about commissions being paid. Yes they have investors that are Chinese, but also other races, but so do many schools and companies, including many universities. I visited two other large Christian schools in the area (Fairfax Christian being one) and found quite a lot of Asian students, however, there are only a few in this school. I believe there are only two international students, one from China and one from maybe Ethiopia. Finally, go ahead and google Veritas and you will find classical Christian schools all over the country with that name. Its one of the most common Classical Christian school names. Sorry, Harvard doesn't have a trademark on "Truth" in Latin.

. I was a parent at the Fair and enrolled my children there for the Fall. Extremely impressed with the SAT scores and college acceptances, as well as talking with current parents. Is Trinity in charge of the Fair? They were allowed probably because they are a school with a high school, and I assume paid the fees to be there, just like you. Appears, mam, (and its pretty obvious who you are) you are clearly intimidated by this woman.

List of colleges are on their Website. Looks pretty legit. Compared to BASIS, looks like they get students into better colleges.

Never heard of this school, though familiar with one in Richmond. Is that a bad thing that they are trying to "drum up business?" Seems like most schools are.

Any school where multiple generations and husband/wife teams comprise the top management spots weirds me out. Seems a bit cultish.

oh, your referring to Fairfax Christian Academy? My daughter attended that school and husband and wife run it, the Snowden’s, with their daughter and other family. She loved the school. Why is that cultish?

+1 I know another family who sent a son there. He got into an Ivy. I was impressed with the curriculum

. Oakhill Christian, brothers and family, too.

Because it's inherently creepy. Kinda like having a son in law and daughter as special advisors. Insularity is rarely a good thing.

Talk about creepy, how about the Catholic schools and abuse by priests. Pretty sure the Cardinal over Washington DC was forced to resign over cover ups.

Also horrible, of course. Doesn’t negate the weirdness of this though.
