Some boys like soap opera-y shows, rom-coms, etc. Some don't.

The Big Bang Theory. I have a couple of Sheldons in my house and wanted to show them what I put up with every day.

Young Sheldon is better. BBT gets a bit raunchy.

No, TBBT is much funnier. We started watching before the creation of YS anyway.

My pre-teen LOVES 911 - and we do watch it as a family. It is quite exciting. It's got excellent actors - Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt as leads. There are some heavier topics of love, addiction, loss, but it is sprinkled with humor and warmth. (The episode about Bad People is a particular favorite of mine - where the 911 team have to help all these lousy people but do it anyway because that's their job, and it is overlaid with a reporter (who's not all that good herself) following them around for a news story.

i loved the mom a couple months ago who watches the bachelor/bachleorette w/her son. even if its hate watching/mocking, i thought that was a pretty cool/not heavy show to bond w/a kid over (girl or boy) and def has teachable moments. mainly how not to be a complete ass.
