It was covered because it did appear to be an islamophobic hate crime. Now it does not (while I sympathize with the families who still think it is, I don't see why that should drive media coverage)

And since national media don't generally cover road rage killings I don't see why they should cover this one based on the perps immigration status.

In any case, if you don't like CNN, you can watch some other media you prefer. Not sure why this obsession with the media - I think its a distraction from many other things in the world - the GOP loss in the election, the growing evidence of something big coming out in the Russian meddling investigation, the beginning of real economic headwinds, the scandal of US officials covering up for a murder by the Islamic govt of Saudi Arabia, etc.

This seems more like the type of crime that would be committed by a white man/men than a Latino man. Latino men tend to respect womanhood more than other groups.

I think he may have been an employee of the real killer, and was framed.

That fits - exactly - with the several Muslim families I know and posted about above, who are all highly educated, productive people.

Although they are highly educated, the families I know seem to have severe persecution complexes and are completely paranoid about imagined Islamaphobia, even in cases like this one where there is no evidence to even hint that this was a hate crime. None.

By way of illustration, these same families are 100% convinced that the Grenfell Tower fire in London in 2017 was an intentional conspiracy, plotted to kill Muslims.

People can be educated an intelligent while also harboring ridiculous and baseless persecution complexes.
