It was covered because it did appear to be an islamophobic hate crime. Now it does not (while I sympathize with the families who still think it is, I don't see why that should drive media coverage)

And since national media don't generally cover road rage killings I don't see why they should cover this one based on the perps immigration status.

In any case, if you don't like CNN, you can watch some other media you prefer.  Not sure why this obsession with the media - I think its a distraction from many other things in the world - the GOP loss  in the election, the growing evidence of something big coming out in the Russian meddling investigation, the beginning of real economic headwinds, the scandal of US officials covering up for a murder by the Islamic govt of Saudi Arabia, etc. [/quote]
