Sounds like Bradley Cooper from “He’s just not that into you”. Watch the movie and really freak yourself out

The more he smokes along with the older he gets, the harder it’ll be to quit. Older age along with smoking is almost guaranteed serious health issues. You see very few males over age 65 that are alive and still smoking. You need to do what ever it takes to keep him from smoking.

| Well I would up his life insurance to start. He will need a physical and blood drawn. Maybe look into to cemetery plots as a joke. Smoking is gross and so unhealthy. |
My husband tried vaping and I insisted he quit and broke all the vapes. He loves it because vaping smells better and still gives a powerful bump of nicotine. . I found it was more addictive for him than smoking and he turned into an irritable mess whenever he couldn’t use on a regular basis. I told him to go back to an occasional cigarette. No one really understands the health impact of vaping and I think in the end we will find they’re not much better than cigarettes. I am not happy about the occasional cigarette as the effects of smoking are cumulative over your lifetime but This is just something DH has to care about for himself. |

Full time job, grad school and brand new baby, not to mention toddler? He is stressed!
Help him to realize that, and to find other ways to handle the stress besides smoking/eating. The next few years are tough, then you have a few easy-breezy years in elementary school, before the obnoxious tweens/teen years. Then you have entirely new and different things to stress you out. My DH used to make a joke/routine about lifting weights (used the baby as the "weights" who loved the ride, and he was on the living room floor lifting baby above head - maybe it was the toddler, because I remember the laughter). Figure out what will make your DH less stressed, and/or what he likes to do, and help him to make time to do it. |
| OP- I don't smoke and I'm available. |
| Weight gain??? Well if he quits now, he’s gonna balloon. What do you like: a fat mf or a smoker? |
