I asked for PIO at GW and was told no because vaginal is better. One miscarriage and one failure to implant later, I’m not very happy to read this study from SG that shows the opposite. |
Did you forget to shave or something? How was that procedure different than all of the others of the doctors “peering up there”? |
| Pap smears are completely different than embryo transfers |
??? How is the mock transfer or actual embryo transfer that much different than all of the countless other times the doctors need to “peer up there” during an IVF cycle? Why was that one any more mortifying than the rest? |
| The mock transfer was the FIRST TIME in the IVF process that happened and I've never had any medical procedure that involved that. |
ANY progesterone will give you that - oral, capsules to insert, or IM injections. You understand that it's the presence of the hormone in your body, not the act of injection that gives you symptoms? |
What about the HSG, hysteroscopy, gazillion ultrasounds, not to mention a variety of other fun optional procedures (saline sono, co-culture sample, etc)? Did you do IUIs before IVF? Lots more peering up there. p.s. They "peer up there" all day long. Nothing special about your cooch. |
Dude, if men had to do this the pharmaceutical industry totally would've created a single-dose beer-flavored pill. |
|
The HSG and the ultrasounds use guidance via the imaging screen not going through the cervix manually and look through the speculum for guidance. I later became more accustomed to it, but I didn't realize what the mock transfer entailed and thus was shocked into silence. |
HSG - they should have inserted the catheter for the dye through your cervix. ?? |
