| I can handle the burn of Menopur, the bruises from the blood draws, the itchiness of the cetrotide, but the progesterone shots kill me. Both the fact that its intramuscular, but more for the fact that it gives you fake pregnancy symptoms. So the whole two week wait is like hell. sorry, just a rant. |

I had progesterone injections for 6 months to keep me from going into premature labor. I'm not sure if the two liquids are the same, but mine was very thick, and could only be injected VERY SLOWLY, otherwise it was painful.
Insist on a slow-motion injection and you won't feel a thing. |

I think op means PIO she wrote "progesterone shots " The moment I knew I was officially an infertility pro. During a TWW I attended a friends' wedding at an event space in Philadelphia. I packed PIO vial, drawing needle administration needle and alcohol pad in my evening bag (back-ups were across town at our hotel). At the appointed time I went to the ladies room to do the shot and somehow the administration needle had fallen out so I took a deep breath and administered my PIO shot to myself with the drawing needle. It started to bleed but I was wearing a dark blue dress so I folded up toilet paper and my stockings kept it in place. Its all hell. |

You’re a rock star! During my first cycle I administered Menopur every night with the mixing needle. I felt so stupid when I had a whole set of extra needles at the end of my cycle. The things we go through! |

| The worst indignity for me was the first mock embryo transfer - I had no idea walking in that the dr. would be peering up there. I was so mortified I could not speak after. Even the HSG used the screen to guide the process. Ugh ugh ugh. |

| By the way, SGF did the definitive study showing that PIO is better and sometimes for FET you can do a combo of PIO and vaginal. But vaginal alone is far, far worse.
