How to encourage my DS to change his hair style?

Why do young 20-30 year old men want to make themselves look like ungroomed 60 year old mountain men or bikers?

Nothing ages and uglifies a young man more than those awful trendy beards.

It is his hair and his body. Do you want him to comment on your looks?

You are focused on wrong things, OP.

For my son, it is related to his sensory issues.

Because it's the fashion right now and 20-30 y.o. gals find it attractive. Unclench.

He currently has a short fade on the side and longer on the top (not as long as a pompadoor). I will see him at Christmas and plan to keep my mouth shut about this. If only he had a current girlfriend who could persuade him. Have you gone through this? I am aware it's not a first world problem.

P.S. This is most definitely a first world problem.

His hair sounds nice but I dont get what it has to do with white nationals.

I would definitely say something about the white nationalist hairstyle.

The 20 to 30 year old women are lying.

There is zero chance they find that look attractive, save a few Duck Dynasty types.

Someone is sad about not being able to grow a beard

OP, for what it’s worth I agree with your issue. Not a day goes by that most of us see strangers with bizarre hair, tattoos, weird ear piercings, etc.... it’s almost like you want to stop them an$ ask why they do this to themselves knowing that others are simply shaking their heads. I’ll never understand it, we certainly don’t need to all look alike but why do we have to pretend this bizarre behavior is normal?

Unfortunately not much you can do. Let it run it’s course.

This is the hairstyle worn by young white supremacists. (It's called Fashy, for Facism, and is modeled after Hitler youth.) It may not be that but you should be aware.

No we're not. My husband has a big beard and (gasp!) a man bun and *I'm* the one who encourages him to never change it. Also, people have, you know, different opinions about what is attractive...

Ha! You can only say something if your son is allowed to tell you how to wear your hair...if he says dye your hair rainbow than you must take his advice and do it. Otherwise none of you business! He is a grown ass man and you should butt out.
